The Shark hCCR crossover is tailored for certified CCR divers looking to transition smoothly to the Shark system. You'll get an in-depth look at the unit’s design, how its hybrid operation differs from (and aligns with) your current rebreather, and the philosophy behind its simplicity and reliability.Through classroom sessions, dry drills, and in-water dives, you’ll become confident in the Shark’s setup, pre-dive checks, loop management, bailout strategy, and emergency procedures. The focus is on practical understanding, efficient skill transfer, and getting you comfortable on the unit — without retraining what you already know.Whether you're switching units or adding the Shark to your toolbox, the crossover is straightforward, efficient, and built around your existing experience.
What to Expect from Shark hCCR TrainingAll Shark hCCR training is delivered by Van Overbeek Technical — a trusted name in technical diver education with a focus on clear, thorough, and experience-led instruction.
We offer two flexible entry levels:
– 30m Level: Perfect for divers new to rebreathers, this course introduces the fundamentals of CCR diving, including setup, loop management, buoyancy, and emergency procedures. No extensive technical background required — just solid basic scuba skills.
– 40/45m Level: For divers already certified in Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, this deeper course builds on your experience to unlock the full potential of the Shark. You’ll train in decompression planning, bailout strategy, and advanced control of the unit under pressure.
Courses can be taken as an intensive block or spread over multiple weekends — paced to suit your availability and learning style. Whether you're just starting out or making the switch from another CCR, Van Overbeek Technical ensures your training is thorough, tailored, and rooted in real diving experience.
